PILATES

A former ballet dancer, Emily first studied pilates as supplement to her dance training, and following a traumatic injury, she grew more interested in the anatomy of movement. Emily earned her bachelor's degree from Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied anatomy and kinesiology as part of her theatre and dance major. She earned her pilates certification from The Kane School of Core Integration in New York, with training in both mat and Reformer/Cadillac/Wunda Chair/Barrels, and apprenticed under Tami Hindin, a movement and health practitioner (Acupuncturist specializing in Craniosacral therapy), where Emily worked with individuals with physical injuries. Emily is also certified in prenatal and post-partum pilates with Debbi Goodman, physioball, myofascial release techniques, and Marie-Jose Bloom’s SmartSpine. Emily enjoys teaching her clients the therapeutic and fitness aspects of pilates.
