HELIUM AERIAL SILKS CONDITIONING
Welcome to Helium Aerial Dance and Fitness and to aerial silks conditioning! Bring your sense of adventure and fun to this challenging total body workout. You'll develop incredible core strength, abs, arms and butt learning techniques and tricks like you'd see performed by Cirque du Soleil. Taught be international aerial artist and National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, Heather Hammond, these classes are just what you need to get the great shoulders, arms and flat stomach you want for summer. You'll overcome fears and be fit physically and mentally.
What to expect: Each class begins with a brief cardio warm-up to get your blood flowing. Next we do stretching and strengthening using your own body weight and on the silks. Then learn to climb, foot lock, flip and slide and invert. We use hanging fabric to suspend, invert, swing and spiral your body into beautiful athletic moves. You'll be having so much fun you won't realize you're working out till you feel the burn. As one student attests, "It's definitely the most fun I've ever had at a gym!" Each student progresses at their own rate. Your strength, endurance and flexibility will improve from week to week as you learn this beautiful art form, that's also a kickin' good workout. Once you discover how exhilarating and effective it is - you'll want to spend more time with your feet off the ground. Wear tight fitting yoga-type clothing with the backs of the knees covered. Bare feet. Long hair tied back. No jewelry, zippers, buttons or rivets. Try not to eat for at least one hour after class - you will be going upside down!
